Miller’s High Jump Win Leads OSU at Rod McCravy Memorial

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the first day of the Rod McCravy Memorial on Friday in Lexington, Ky. Shaun Miller Jr. earned his second win of the season in the men’s high jump, clearing 2.15m.
- The Buckeye men finished as runners-up by just 0.01 seconds in the distance medley. Sean Carney, John Cuozzo, Cameron Cooper and Tyrese Fajardo ran a 9:45.38, while Zubin Jha, Nick Miller, David Palmer and Jake Wickert crossed the line fourth with a time of 10:10.80.
- Palmer also picked up an individual second-place finish, running a 1:19.22 in the 600m and winning his heat. Alex Kenish was fifth (1:20.04).
- Shacquille Lowe finished third in the men’s long jump (7.31m).
- The Ohio State women had two teams finish in the top six of the distance medley with Aizia Ayoub, Addie Engel, Andrea Kuhn and Mary Figler finishing fourth (11:46.11) and Allie Guagenti, Dinah Gigandet, Akemi Von Scherr and Ellie Weber finishing sixth (12:04.05).
- Praise Olatoke finished fifth for the men in the 200m (21.35), while Yanique Dayle led the women with a ninth-place finish (24.18).
- The OSU men saw three finish in the top 10 of the men’s weight throw. Tanner Watson led the Buckeyes with a throw of 18.56m, good for fifth, while Carlos Aviles finished sixth (18.53m) and Hayden Tobias finished ninth (17.44m).
- Leo Uusimaki finished in a tie for eighth in the men’s high jump, clearing 1.85m.
- Lacey Stringer got 10th in the women’s weight throw with a throw of 15.96m.
- Four OSU men qualified for tomorrow’s 60m finals – Eric Harrison (6.77), Kainnan Ramsey (6.82), Adrian Curry (6.86) and Olatoke (6.90).
- Three Buckeye women qualified to run in tomorrow’s 60m finals – Anavia Battle (7.33), Dayle (7.46) and Nya Bussey (7.51). Battle and Bussey finished first and second in their heat, while Battle finished second overall in the qualifiers.
- Three men will compete in the 60m hurdles finals tomorrow – Oscar Smith (7.99), Kentre Patterson (8.13) and Uusimaki (8.17). Smith won his heat.
