Aquilla Named Big Ten Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its weekly track and field awards on Wednesday. Senior thrower Adelaide Aquilla was named Big Ten Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second-consecutive week, following competition at the South Carolina Challenge.
Aquilla continued to dominate her competition in the shot put, earning her second win in as many meets this year at the South Carolina Challenge. Aquilla threw a 19.09m, 0.01m farther than her best throw last weekend and just 0.03m off her personal best. The runner-up in the women’s shot put threw for 16.08m. Aquilla’s throw once again beat her best throws at the Olympics and the Olympic Trials this past summer.
