
No. 10 Ohio State Clipped by No. 6 Duke, 4-3

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10 Ohio State women's tennis team opened its dual match slate at No. 6 Duke Friday, falling to the Blue Devils, 4-3.
Doubles came down to court one, where Duke prevailed in a tiebreak for the 1-0 match lead. Singles was decided in a tiebreak on court four with the match tied at three. Kolie Allen, Isabelle Boulais and Luna Dormet all posted singles wins for Ohio State.
It was the second straight 4-3 match between the Buckeyes and Blue Devils, which each team winning on its home court.
Ohio State will play at No. 8 North Carolina State at noon Sunday to close the weekend.
In Doubles
- The doubles point came down to a tiebreaker on court one.
- Duke's Kelly Chen and Ellie Coleman defeated the Buckeye tandem of Lucia Marzal and Luna Dormet, 6-1, on court three in the first completed match.
- Ohio State took court two, as No. 29-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff topped Emma Jackson and Eliza Omirou, 6-3.
- Court one was a battle between Buckeyes Kolie Allen and Isabelle Boulais and Duke's Chloe Beck and Margaryta Bilokin. The Buckeyes were up 5-1 but the Blue Devils rallied, tying the match at 5 holding on the no-ad point. Each tandem held to send the match to a tiebreak. Duke jumped out to an early lead 5-1 lead. The Buckeyes won the next two but Duke closed it out to put the Blue Devils up, 1-0.
In Singles
- No. 15 Chole Beck won 6-0, 6-1 over No. 123 Sydni Ratliff on court two for a 2-0 advantage.
- Kolie Allen tied the match when she topped No. 48 Ellie Coleman, 6-4, 6-1, on court five.
- Isabelle Boulais put the Buckeyes ahead 2-1, as she was a 6-4, 6-1 winner against No. 26 Emma Jackson on court three.
- Duke answered, as No. 73 Georgia Drummy defeated Irina Cantos Siemers in a tight match, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
- No. 114 Luna Dormet deadlocked the score again as she topped Eliza Omirou on court six. The Buckeye won the first set in a tiebreak, 7-2, and then won the final two games in the second set to win 7-5.
- The match came down to a third set on court four between No. 72 Lucia Marzal and Kelly Chen. The Blue Devil won the first, 6-4, and the Buckeye answered with a 6-3 win in the second. In the third, Chen pulled away in the end to take the set, 6-3.
