
Battle Leads Buckeyes at South Carolina Challenge

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team opened competition at the South Carolina Challenge on Friday. Senior Anavia Battle picked up her second win of the season by running a 7.28 in the 60m invite finals.
- Eric Harrison Jr. finished second in the 60m invite finals with a time of 6.73, trimming a tenth of a second off his qualifying time (6.83).
- Tanner Watson finished as the runner up (16.48m) in the open final of the men’s weight throw, while Lacey Stringer led the Buckeye women with a third-place finish (15.62m) in the women’s open final.
- Donnie James Jr. finished third in the men’s 400m final (49.67).
- Adrian Curry and Armani Modeste finished third and fourth, respectively, in the men’s 200m final as just one-hundredth of a second separated the two’s times (21.77 and 21.78).
- Abbey Kuhn and AnneMarie Moses represented the Buckeyes in the invite final of the women’s pole vault with Kuhn coming in third (3.85m) and Moses tying for sixth (3.65m).
- Stringer also competed in the open final of the women’s shot put, placing fourth with a throw of 13.42m, just 0.02m behind third place.
- Alyssa Marsh finished seventh (7.52) in the women’s 60m invite finals, just beating out her qualifying time (7.53).
UP NEXT
The Buckeyes wrap up action at the South Carolina Challenge on Saturday. Field events begin at noon and track events begin at 1 p.m. as all events are finals to conclude the invitational.
