
Olympic Update: Clemons Advances to 100m Hurdle Semifinals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State hurdler Christina (Manning) Clemons qualified for the 100m hurdles semifinals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with her time in today’s preliminary heats. She will compete in the semifinals on Sunday, Aug. 1 at 6:45 a.m. ET.
Clemons, a 2012 Ohio State graduate, competed in the fourth heat in the qualifying round on Saturday, finishing with a time of 12.91. She finished second in the heat and 15th overall.
Clemons qualified for Team USA by finishing third in the 100m hurdle with a time of 12.53 at the Olympic Trials in June.
The 11-time All-American and 10-time Big Ten Champion won eight individual conference championships during her time as a Buckeye. As a senior in 2012, Clemons captured two NCAA titles – the 60m hurdles indoors and the 100m hurdles outdoors. The 2012 Big Ten Conference Female Athlete of the Year was also a four-time Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year and continues to hold three individual records at Ohio State. Clemons was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
