
Olympic Update: Aquilla Competes in Women’s Shot Put

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior Adelaide Aquilla competed in the qualifying rounds of the shot put on Friday morning at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Aquilla threw 17.68m to finish ninth in her qualifying group and 20th overall. This concludes her Olympics appearance.
Aquilla qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for Team USA by finishing third at the Olympic Trials in June with a top throw of 18.95m.
Aquilla was selected as Ohio State’s 2021 Female Athlete of the Year after capturing the indoor and outdoor NCAA shot put championships this spring. She is the three-time reigning Big Ten shot put champion. Aquilla set school and Big Ten records in the shot put and was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championship for both indoor and outdoor.
