COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State picked up two more victories Saturday at the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relays on a somewhat rainy day with a majority of events being relays. The competition was held on the University of Illinois' campus at its brand new Demirjian Park.
NCAA indoor shot put national champion Adelaide Aquilla was the star of the day. She won the shot put invitational with a school-record toss of 18.29m / 60-0-1/4 that also ranks as the No. 1 throw in the country this year.
Aquilla's teammates, Sade Olatoye (16.60m / 54-5-1/2) and Divine Oladipo (16.34m / 53-7-1/2) were second and fourth, respectively. This trio has now combined to win nine events in four meets this spring.
Ohio State also picked up a victory from its sprint medley relay team comprised of Tyrese Fajardo, David Palmer, Nick Miller and Frank Hayes. The quartet won in 3:22.50.
Four more relays also ran for Ohio State today. Those relays and their times were:
- 4×800 – Cameron Cooper, Frank Hayes, Michael Huber and Nick Miller (7:36.60);
