COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s second true road series on the 2021 season takes it west to Bloomington, Ind. this weekend as the Buckeyes and Hoosiers meet for four games Friday-Sunday.

Briefly on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State enters the weekend series with a 13-10 overall record.
- Since campus-series began the weekend of March 26-28, the Buckeyes are 7-4 with series wins over Maryland (three of four) and Penn State (all three games).
- The Buckeyes are hitting .261 as a team and have three starters who all currently check with a batting average of .300 or better: Tegan Cortelletti (.367), Mariah Rodriguez (.311) and Sam Hackenbracht (.309).
- Hackenbracht has the best power numbers of that group, checking in with a .673 slugging percentage with 10 extra base hits (five doubles, five home runs).
- Ohio State’s 13 home runs have been hit by six different players. Hackenbracht leads with five, followed by Niki Carver (four) and one each for Ashley Prange, Meggie Otte, Carley Gaskill and Kaitlyn Coffman.
- The pitching duo of Allison Smith and Payton Buresch have pitched 147.2 of Ohio State’s 163.1 total innings.
- Buresch leads with 12 games started and a 1.90 earned-run average. She’s given up two or less earned runs in 10 of her 12 starts.
- Smith averages a strikeout per inning (75 Ks, 74.0 innings) and her .225 batting average against in the best on the team. She also had a team-best seven complete games.
Scouting Indiana
- The Hoosiers are 11-13 on the season but are coming off a series win at Purdue last weekend. Indiana split a doubleheader on Friday and then won single games on Saturday and Sunday.
- Indiana leads the Big Ten with 67 stolen bases. Last weekend, Gabby Jenkins became the program’s all-time leader in that category with 91.
- Pitcher Emily Goodin leads the team in every statistical category. She’s appeared in 21 of the Hoosiers’ 24 games and has a 2.84 ERA in 95.0 innings.
