
Buckeyes Headed to NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 5 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team will spend its weekend in Minneapolis, Minn. competing at the 2021 National Collegiate Men’s Gymnastics Championships.

HOW IT WORKS
- Twelve teams are making the trip to Minneapolis and will compete in two separate qualifying sessions on Friday.
- The Buckeyes will face Oklahoma, Nebraska, William & Mary, Navy and Illinois in Session I. Session II features Iowa, Penn State, Stanford, Michigan, California and Minnesota.
- The top-three scoring teams from each session will advance to Saturday’s team finals. In addition, the top-10 placing gymnasts from each event whose team did not advance will compete for individual titles in the final session.
QUICK HITS
- Ohio State will take part in qualifying session one on Friday at 2 p.m. ET.
- The Buckeyes will start the day on vault before moving to parallel bars, high bar, floor, pommel horse and finishing on rings.
- Ohio State is seeking its fourth national championship in program history, having last won the NCAA Championships in 2001.
- The last individual champion for the Buckeyes was Alec Yoder, who won the pommel horse title in 2019.
- The Buckeyes recorded a team score of 394.900 at the Big Ten Championships. Jesse Tyndall finished fifth in the all-around competition with an 80.400 to earn first team All-Big Ten honors.
