WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Ohio State and rest of the field at the Boilermaker Invitational faced a cool and breezy day on Sunday and the scoring reflected those conditions as the Buckeyes posted a 298 and finished 10th overall.
Jackson Chandler had the round of the day for the Buckeyes, making three birdies to just two bogeys in a round of 1-under 71. That was his lowest of the tournament and lifted him into a tie for 24th at 3-over.
Elis Svard closed with a 75 and finished at 5-over par while Maxwell Moldovan posted a 76 and was a shot behind Svard at 6-over. Felix Kvarnstrom also had a 76 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 48th at +9 and Adam Wallin rounded out the Buckeye five with a 77.
There was also an individual tournament this weekend on the adjacent Ackerman-Allen Golf Course where Caleb Davern, Grant Engle and Kevin Stone were all in action. Davern led the Buckeye trio with a ninth-place finish following rounds of 72-71-74 (+1). Engle and Stone both finished a shot back at +2 and tied for 11th.
This was the first of four consecutive weekends of events for the Buckeyes. They will head to Arizona next week for the ASU Thunderbird Invitational and will return home to host the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on April 24-25. That will then be followed by the Big Ten Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club on the final weekend of April.
