WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After a pleasant morning round, Ohio State slogged its way through a rainy second round to posts rounds of 288-298 and sit in 10th place through 36 holes of the Boilermaker Invitational.
The Kampen Course at Purdue is hard enough under normal conditions but the breeze and rain in the afternoon didn’t make scoring easy. Max Moldovan and Elis Svard are both 2-over par for the tournament. Moldovan had rounds of 71-75 and Svard posted scores of 72-74.
Jackson Chandler had the lowest second round for the Buckeyes with a 73 and he is +4 through 36 holes. Felix Kvarnstrom led the team in the morning with a 70 but came home with a 79 in the afternoon and is a shot behind Chandler at 5-over. Adam Wallin rounded out the Buckeye scorers with a pair of 76s.
There is also an individual event running at the same time on the adjacent Ackerman-Allen Golf Course. Three Buckeyes are competing in that tournament. Caleb Davern made four birdies and two eagles in his two rounds and is 1-under par after rounds of 72-21. Kevin Stone made a total of nine birdies on the day and posted rounds of 74-70.
