COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Mac Podraza garnered her third straight Big Ten Setter of the Week laurel, the conference announced Monday.
Podraza is the first Buckeye to earn setter of the week honors three times in a row after averaging 14.67 assists when Ohio State upset Penn State for a second time in 2021. She tallied 44 assists, six digs and two blocks in the 3-0 victory. Podraza has recorded at least 40 assists 10 times this season, including in seven straight matches.
It was the first time the Buckeyes had beaten the Nittany Lions in straight sets since Nov. 8 2006, the first win in Rec Hall since Oct. 20, 2004 and the first time since 2001 that Ohio State had swept the season series.
At 12-0, Ohio State is off to its best start under a first-year head coach and in the Big Ten since 1991. The Buckeyes have the most consecutive wins since the 2013 season.
