COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team is back in action after the Big Ten Conference announced the league-wide schedule on Dec. 29. The conference-only schedule includes 22 matches over 11 weeks. Teams will play two matches each week against the same opponent.
“The schedule we have all been anticipating has finally arrived,” said head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg. “Being able to plan and prepare for actual opponents with dates on a calendar is exciting and makes this unorthodox spring season seem more real. I really like our rotation of opponents as well as the balance of home and away matches. But what I’m really looking forward to is the opportunity for our group of student-athletes to showcase what they have been preparing for all fall.”
The Buckeyes return to the Covelli Center on Jan. 22-23 to open the season against Maryland. Ohio State travels to Penn State for a midweek matchup on Jan. 26 before hosting the Nittany Lions on Jan. 31. The month of February begins on the road at Michigan State (Feb. 5-6) and continues with a home series against Iowa on Feb. 12-13. The team will spend the following two weeks away from Columbus with visits to Illinois (Feb. 19-20) and Rutgers (Feb. 26-27).
Ohio State is back in Covelli to face Minnesota (March 5-6) before heading to Nebraska (March 13-14) the next week. The Buckeyes will remain in Columbus to close out their home slate by taking on Michigan (March 19-20) and Purdue (March 26-27). The regular season concludes on April 2-3 with a trip to Indiana.
The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will begin April 8-10. NCAA Regionals are set for April 15-17 with the NCAA Semifinals on April 22 and the NCAA Final on April 24.
