Lewis and Battle Win Titles at Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field program competed in the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge this Friday, Jan. 24. The Buckeyes were able to end the short day with two event titles in the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash, along with three top five finishes. Ohio State looks to build on their success tomorrow for day two of the Columbia Challenge.
Juniors Morgan Lewis and Anavia Battle each won event titles during day one of the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge. Lewis claimed the 60-meter hurdle event title with a personal best time of 8.27. Battle won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.33.
Top Five Finishes
Lindsey Baker competed in her first meet as a Buckeye during today’s competition. Baker took fourth in the women’s shot put with a distance of 15.27-meters.
The women’s distance medley placed fifth with a time of 11:32.95. The team included Aziza Ayoub, Mary Figler, Annie Ubbing and Gia Napoleon.
Devine Parker, a transfer this year for the Buckeyes, placed fourth in the women’s 60-meter dash with a time of 7.49.

The Buckeyes will compete in the second portion of the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge. Meet is set to start at 9:30 a.m. ET with the women’s weight throw. Running events will start 9:40 a.m. with the women’s 3,000-meter run.
