
Buckeyes Wrap Up Successful Summer on the Diamond

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eleven members of the 2019 Big Ten Tournament champion Ohio State baseball team recently completed successful seasons in summer collegiate wood bat leagues across the country.
Highlighting the Buckeyes on the diamond this summer were Nolan Clegg and Mitchell Smith of the Michigan Monarchs of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and Marcus Ernst of the Champion City Kings in the Prospect League. Clegg hit .314 with four doubles, a triple, five home runs, 27 runs scored and 19 stolen bases on his was to GLSCL All-Star honors. Smith joined him on the GLSCL All-Star team, finishing the summer with a .287 average with four doubles, 16 runs scored and 13 RBI, while Ernst hit .265 with eight doubles, a triple, five long balls, 25 runs scored and 22 RBI.
