Freshman Isabelle Boulais Selected for NCAA Singles Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Isabelle Boulais, a freshman on the Ohio State women’s tennis team, is an at-large selection to the 2019 NCAA Singles Championship. The Mississauga, Ontario, native is one of 48 at-large selections to the 64-player bracket.
The singles competition will be held May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., following the conclusion of the NCAA team championship, which runs May 16-19.
All singles matches will be best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six-games-all will be used for all matches.
Boulais is the fifth Buckeye to earn a spot in the NCAA singles tournament, joining Anna Sanford (2018), Francesca Di Lorenzo (2016, ’17), Monica Rincon (2002) and Kristy Dascoli (1998, ’99, ’00, ’01). Boulais is the third Buckeye to be selected for the singles championship as a freshman, joining Di Lorenzo and Dascoli.
Boulais is No. 55 in the most recent ITA rankings. She is 15-7 in dual matches this spring, with a 9-5 record on court one. Overall, she is 16-12 in 2018-19.
Boulais and the Buckeyes (19-6) were also selected for the NCAA team championship, marking the sixth straight appearance for the program. Ohio State will travel to Nashville and take on Georgia Tech in the first round at 1 p.m. ET Friday. Host Vanderbilt, the No. 8 overall seed, will face Miami (Ohio) in the other first round matchup, with the winners meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday for a spot in the super regional round.
