
Three Buckeyes Named All-Big Ten

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three members of the No. 23 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team were picked for the All-Big Ten team, the conference announced on Monday. Senior Jamie Stone claimed First Team All-Big Ten honors, while junior Olivia Aepli and sophomore Jenna Swartzentruber garnered Second Team nods.
Stone, from Chesapeake, Va., earns her third All-Big Ten honor and appears on the First Team for the first time in her career. Stone has placed first 13 times this season, including three all-around titles in her first year competing in the event and the floor exercise title at the Big Five Meet (Feb. 23). Stone set two new career-highs, a 39.500 in the all-around and a 9.850 on bars, and tied another pair of personal-bests on floor (9.950) and beam (9.925). Stone ranks sixth in the conference on floor and is 12th out of Big Ten all-arounders.
Aepli, from Dublin, Ohio, is named to the All-Big Ten team for the second straight season. Aepli leads the team on vault with four titles and a regional qualifying score of 9.830, and has also won titles on beam and bars this season. Aepli’s first year competing in the all-around, she set a career-best of 39.200 on March 2, and tied her career-high of 9.850 on beam (Jan. 19). She ranks 12th in the conference on vault and 15th in the all-around.
Swartzentruber, from Centerburg, Ohio, takes home her first All-Big Ten honors. She has earned four event titles this season, all on the uneven bars, leading the team with a regional qualifying score of 9.875, also good for ninth in the conference. Swartzentruber has been a staple for the Buckeyes on bars and beam. She has tied her career-best of 9.900 twice this season on bars, and has a season-high of 9.875 on the beam.
