COLUMBUS, Ohio—Will Grimmer continues to impress in his senior campaign as in the last week alone he was named to the United States Arnold Palmer Cup team, the watch list for the Fred Haskins Award and now his second Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors of the season. Grimmer earned the award by leading the Ohio State team to a third-place finish at the Bandon Dunes Invitational after shooting a two-over, 218 (75-70-73), and finishing tied for ninth-place. He has now finished ninth or better in all five tournaments he has competed in this year and is collectively 15-under par for the season in stroke play events. The senior is 12th in the nation in Golfstat rankings with a 69.99 adjusted scoring average, 11 rounds of par or better on the year, and averages over 13 birdies per tournament.
This is Grimmer’s third Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor of his career and the third for the team this season. The last time that the Buckeyes had three Big Ten Golfers of the Week was back in 2004 when Kevin Hall (twice) and Zach Doran combined for the three honors.
Grimmer and Ohio State tee it up again on March 15-17 at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Georgia at the Landing Golf Club.
