Anavia Battle and Sade Olatoye Collect Big Ten Weekly Women’s Indoor Track & Field Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Not one, but two Ohio State Track & Field stars earned Big Ten Athlete of the Week honors following dominant performances at the Rod McCravy Memorial last weekend. Anavia Battle was awarded her first Big Ten Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor following three top-3 finishes including a personal record in the 60m Dash (7.35s). Sade Olatoye collected an unprecedented third consecutive Big Ten Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award. The senior won titles in weight throw (22.89m) and shot put (17.57m), the latter marking a new Ohio State record.

• Posted three top-three finishes at last weekend’s Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial, including a win in the 200 meters (23.04) with the nation’s fifth-fastest time this year
• Ran a new personal-best time in the 60 meters (7.35) in a third-place finish
• Helped the Buckeyes’ 4×400 relay unit place second in 3:37.13, the No. 15 time in the nation this season
• Earns her first career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award

Sr. – Dublin, Ohio – Dublin Coffman – Major: Health Sciences
• Registered wins in the weight throw (22.89m/75 feet, 1.25 inches) and shot put (17.57m/57-7.75) at the Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial last weekend, recording the country’s No. 3 distances in both events
• Won the weight throw competition by more than three meters
• A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2016-17 and 2017-18)
• Collects her seventh career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award, and third this season
• Last Ohio State Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Sade Olatoye (Jan. 30, 2019)
