Parrott Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a thrilling overtime victory for the Ohio State women’s lacrosse team over Brown on Monday, senior attacker Baley Parrott is the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Parrott, a native of Airmont, N.Y., scored a career-high six goals against the Bears to lead the team. Of the six, the most pivotal of the game was her final tally: down by a goal with 20 seconds left in the second frame, Parrott found the equalizing goal with five seconds left in the game to force overtime. The Buckeyes went on to defeat the Bears with just over a minute left in the overtime period, 15-14.

Parrott gave Ohio State the first goal of the game 40 seconds in, converting on a free-position attempt, and had a hat trick before the end of the half, including a man-down goal with 30 seconds left in the period. In the second, Parrott again led off the scoring for Ohio State at 28:12 and added another two goals to finish the game with six. Additionally, she registered three ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover.
Her first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week nod, Parrott last earned a conference weekly honor on Feb. 16, 2016 when she was named Freshman of the Week. Ohio State last earned the award on Feb. 12, with junior midfielder Liza Hernandez receiving the recognition after the first two games of the season.
The Buckeyes have a quick turnaround on Friday, Feb. 18, hosting Notre Dame at 3 p.m. indoors at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
