Due to the weather cancelled Bearcat Invitational, the Buckeyes have decided to enter the team in the Muskies Classic (Oct. 22-23), previously planned as an individual event, and add another individual event this next week in the Gordin Collegiate Classic to be played alongside the Nike Collegiate Invitational.

Ohio State at the Nike Collegiate Invitational and Gordin Collegiate Classic
- This year marks the fifth time that the Buckeyes have played in the Nike Collegiate Invitational, every year since its inception in 2014.
- Ohio State finished in 15th place last season and will try to turn their luck this week as their best finish overall has been 13th.
- Daniel Wetterich was the top scorer last time out, coming in at even par (72-69-72) to place 30th for the tournament.
- With the late addition, Ohio State will send three individuals to the Gordin Collegiate Classic, marking the first appearance for the Buckeyes at the tournament.
The Courses
- Colonial Country Club founded in 1936 is bordered by the Trinity River on the north and surrounded by a neighboring residential area. The course was built to introduce Bentgrass greens to Texas as the founder, Marvin Leonard, believed Bentgrass was far superior to the Bermudagrass found in most Texas courses. Colonial not only plays host to one of the longest running PGA Tour events played at the same venue, the Fort Worth Invitational, but has hosted the U.S. Open, Tournament Players Championship, and U.S. Women’s Open.
- Spreading out over nearly 7,000 yards, the Championship Course at Columbus Country Club has seen some of the game’s greatest players grace its fairways. Along with being the mainstay for the Gordin Collegiate Classic, the course has also hosted events such as the 1964 PGA Championship.
Buckeye Backdrop
- The whole team was deployed this last week, six to the Bearcat Invitational and three to the Inverness Intercollegiate. After only four holes, the Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati was cancelled due to heavy rain forecasted for the length of the tournament.
- In Toledo at the Inverness, the Buckeyes sent three individuals, Colin Bowles, Jack Mancinotti, and Justin Wick to represent the scarlet and gray.
- Bowles was the low man for the Buckeyes, finishing in 46th place, turning in rounds of 74, 81, and 71. Mancinotti, 78-75-77, and Wick, 78-81-78, finished 51st and 71st respectively.
- The team is on the third leg of four consecutive weeks with tournament play that commences next week with the Jack Nicklaus Invitational back home in Columbus.
