Buckeyes Head to Tennessee for Fall Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team takes a trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend for the annual Tennessee Fall Invite. The tournament runs Friday through Sunday, with dual-style singles and doubles play. Ohio State will be joined in the tourney by the host Tennessee Volunteers, IUPUI and Wake Forest
The Scarlet and Gray, Volunteers, Jaguars and Demon Deacons will compete at Goodfriend Tennis Center, starting at 11 a.m. Friday.
To kick off the first day, the Buckeyes will face Wake Forest in singles and then take on IUPUI in doubles at 2 p.m. Saturday, Ohio State matches up vs. Tennessee at 11 a.m. in singles and will play doubles vs. Wake Forest at 2 p.m. Sunday starts with the Buckeyes vs. IUPUI in singles at 10 a.m., with the Buckeyes closing out play at 1 p.m. in doubles vs. Tennessee.
Last Year at the Tennessee Fall Invite
This is the Buckeyes’ seventh appearance in Tennessee’s fall dual-match style tournament.
Last year, then-senior Olivia Sneed led the Buckeyes, winning all three of her singles matches. Combined, the Buckeyes were 9-9 in singles and 8-5 in doubles over the three days.
Last Time Out
Ohio State competed in the ITA Midwest Regional in Ann Arbor, Mich., last week. The sophomore duo of Shiori Fukuda and Luna Dormet led the Buckeyes in doubles, advancing to the championship match after four victories.
Two Buckeyes advanced to the quarterfinals in singles – Fukuda and Danielle Wolf, who came through qualifying, as did Dormet.
