
London Captures Title in the 400m Hurdles

Tempe, Ariz. – Christine London opened her senior season with a win in the 400m hurdles on Friday evening at the Baldy Castillo Invitational. London outran 11 other hurdles at the Joe Selleh Track with a time of 59.93 to secure gold. The title for London was the second of her career.

Sarah Kanney, who was competing in her first career outdoor race as a collegiate athlete, clocked a personal-best 2,000m steeplechase time of 6:47.94 to place second. In the field events, four Buckeyes came away with podium finishes; Olivia Small (triple jump/11.65m/38-2.50) and Cole Gorski (pole vault/5.20m/17-0.50) both recorded silver placings with personal bests, while Sade Olatoye (hammer throw/60.68m/199-0.75) and DaJuan Seward (triple jump/14.58m/47-10.00) finished third in their events.
In the 200m dash, Champ Page placed fifth with a personal record time of 21.05 for the men and Karrington Winters finished ninth with a readout of 24.19. Both men’s and women’s 200m dash fields had more than 50 athletes.
Max Seipel registered a personal best in the hammer throw in the first event of the day. Seipel tossed the hammer a personal best 58.83m (193-00) to finish in eighth place.Â
