Christine is a senior and she competes for the track and field team. Her primary events are the sprints, hurdles and relays. She competed at the NCAA East Preliminaries in the 400m hurdles in 2016. She was a 2016 Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and a member of the Academic All-Big Ten squad.
How did you decide to come to OSU?
I’m a transfer student from Virginia Tech and I saw OSU run at a meet I was at. Ever since then it was my dream to come here. Once I got in contact with Coach Dennis, I knew this was the place for me.
How long have you been doing your sport?
I have been running track since my freshman year of high school. So about seven years.
Do you have any pre-race superstitions or rituals?
I have to listen to Break Every Chain by Tasha Cobbs right before I warm-up.
What is your favorite part about your sport?
I just love competing and the satisfaction of running a personal best.
What is the hardest thing about your sport?
The hardest part is practice and having to get up early to train.
How do you balance athletics and academics?
By keeping a disciplined schedule and getting adequate sleep.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose strategic communications because I’ve always been a people person and had an eye for public relations and marketing.
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite spot to study on campus is Younkin.
What is your favorite class you have taken here so far?
Crisis Communication with Professor Polk.
What is a fun fact about you that not many people know about?
I did gymnastics for eight years.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mac n Cheese
Who do you most admire and why?
I admire my mom the most because she is the strongest person I know and even in the roughest situations she has been able to keep a positive outlook on things.
