
Orewiler Steadies, Grimmer Makes Move on Day Two of Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, P.R. – Will Grimmer climbed 18 slots on the leaderboard up into a share of 19th place with a 2-under 70 in the Puerto Rico Classic second round. Caden Orewiler remains Ohio State’s top performer overall, however, tied for 14th in the 75-player field following scores of 71-72 (-1). Ohio State recorded a 4-over 292 as a team in round number two. Through 36 holes, the Buckeyes are slotted eighth in the 15-team standings. The Scarlet & Gray sits three shots back from the Top-5 and a handful of strokes clear of nationally-ranked teams No. 17 North Carolina (+10) and No. 15 Mississippi (+14).
The Buckeyes have excelled on Par 3 and Par 4 scoring, ranking second and fourth respectively, but have struggled on the lengthy Par 5’s. Grimmer overcame a double bogey on the Par-5 15th by dropping in a team-high five birdies. Orewiler completed his day with a bit less drama, matching three bogies with three birdies for the even par 72.
Engle has been a two-time contributor to the team tally as well while Daniel Wetterich and Caleb Ramirez split the fourth ‘counting’ score on Day Two.
