
Nine Current & Former Buckeyes Set for U.S. Olympic Trials

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nine current and former Buckeye track and field athletes are set to compete at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. The trials are scheduled to take place July 1-10 at Historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon, with the Top-3 finishers in each event securing a spot on Team USA.
Below is the current Buckeye trial schedule. Dates and competing athletes are subject to change.
NBC will air more than 30 hours of Olympic Trials coverage between its main channel, NBC Sports Network, and its streaming platform, NBC Sports Live Extra. Live coverage begins on Friday, July 1, with an online stream of the men’s shot put final, followed by primetime coverage of the men’s 10,000-meter final on NBC at 9 p.m. ET. Walker Competes at Jamaican Senior Championships
Senior SoSo Walker, competing in the women’s 400-meter dash, will vie for a spot on the Jamaican National Team beginning on Friday, July 1 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Preliminary heats are scheduled for July 1, followed by semifinals on July 2 and finals July 3.
