Will Grimmer Near Top of Day One Leaderboard at Big Ten Championshops – Ohio State Buckeyes

NEWBURGH, Ind. – Will Grimmer racked up 14 pars, tied for the second most of all players on Day One of the Big Ten Championships, to position himself just two shots back from the lead and tied for sixth place overall in the 70-player field. The Buckeye freshman dropped in three birdies compared to a lone bogey, registered 2-under 70 in his first career conference championship round of play.
Grimmer closed the day on a high, sinking back-to-back birdies on the final two holes. Ohio State is slotted ninth in the team standings at 10-over. Josh Wick came in as the second-best Buckeye performer at 2-over (74). Also competing in his first B1G Championships, Wick earned a share of 30th place after 18 holes.
Then came the veteran Buckeyes battling in their fourth conference tournament as Tee-k Kelly and Grant Weaver carded scores of 76 and 78, respectively, to contribute to the team tally. Kelly (+4) is tied for 42nd place while Weaver (+6) owns a share of 55th.
