BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 6-ranked Ohio State women’s tennis team clinched a share of the Big Ten on Friday with a 4-0 victory at Indiana. The Buckeyes are 10-0 in conference play and can win an outright title with a victory on Sunday at Purdue. That match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
“It was a really tough match,” Melissa Schaub, the Buckeyes’ head coach, said. “Indiana fought us hard. We have some things we need to work on but we competed well out there.”
Against the Hoosiers, the Buckeyes won the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. In singles, junior Sandy Niehaus, freshman Francesca Di Lorenzo and sophomore Anna Sanford all won in straight sets for the Buckeyes’ ninth victory in a row. Ohio State is 56-0 in Big Ten singles matches this spring and has shut out its opponents in nine of 10 outings.
