Buckeyes Make Upward Push in Boilermaker Invitational Final Round – Ohio State Buckeyes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Ohio State University men’s golf team concluded its regular season with a wave of momentum heading into next week’s Big Ten Championships, shooting a 4-over 292 in the Boilermaker Invitational final round to leap three slots up into seventh place overall. Will Grimmer paced the Buckeyes individually, earning a share of 18th place for his team-leading sixth top-25 effort of the season.
Grimmer racked up 39 pars in the tournament, ranking fifth out of everybody. He opened in the red with a 1-under 71, then rose above par at 74 in round number two before completing the cycle at even par (72) in the final round.
Tee-k Kelly and Clark Engle joined Grimmer in the top half of the individual leaderboard. Kelly placed 29th at 4-over and Engle came quickly behind in a tie for 38th (7-over). Kelly (72-74-71) took a similar route to Grimmer, surrounding an over-par middle round with scores of 72 and 71. Meanwhile, Engle’s best trip around the course was his second, posting a 72 to go along with a 76 and 75 in the first and third rounds, respectively.
Josh Wick was a three-time contributor to the team tally as well and paced the squad with 11 birdies. His aggregate sum of 224 earned him a share of 45th place overall (77-73-74).
