
Grimmer Pacing Buckeyes Again at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fifteen Nike-clad men’s golf programs converged on the Colonial Country Club on Sunday (Oct. 2) for Round 1 of the 2016 Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational. Ohio State posted a 12-over 292 with Will Grimmer leading the way individually at 1-over (71) and tied for 27th place.
Grimmer’s 71 marks his seventh contribution to the team tally in as many rounds played this season. His 15 pars are tied for the most in the field. Fellow Cincinnati native, Daniel Wetterich chipped in his sixth score with a 5-over 75 to open the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational. Addison Coll and Caleb Ramirez finished two strokes better, however, each earning shares of 47th place at 3-over (73). Ramirez dropped in a team-high five birdies, ranking fifth among all 75 players.
Clarke Engle traversed the PGA Tour stop as well, coming in at 9-over (79) to start the 54-hole competition.

Ohio State is paired with Arizona (+15) and TCU (+10) for the second round on Monday (Oct. 3). The first Buckeye tees it up at 10:30 a.m. ET off of Hole 10.
