Di Lorenzo in Action at U.S. Open – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Francesca Di Lorenzo, a freshman on the Ohio State women’s tennis team, is competing in both singles and doubles in the U.S. Open Juniors this week in New York.
Di Lorenzo, a New Albany, Ohio, native who is ranked No. 26 in the most recent ITF junior rankings, also played in this year’s Wimbledon and French Open junior championships. She won the ITF Women’s Pro Tennis Open of Austin in Summer 2015, as well as doubles titles at tournaments in Belgium and Brazil. Di Lorenzo first competed in the U.S. Open junior tournament in 2014, winning her first round match.
In her first round singles match Sunday, Di Lorenzo dropped the first set in a tiebreaker before winning the second in a tiebreaker. In the third, she was able to post a 6-3 victory to claim the match and move on to the second round.
Di Lorenzo and her partner are the No. 5 seed in the doubles tournament and begin play Monday.
