COLUMBUS, Ohio – Pitcher Shelby McCombs, utility player Alex Bayne and catcher/1B Erika Leonard talk about the importance of helping to raise money for the Stephanie Spielman Fund at the OSUCCC-James and this weekend’s Charity Classic, which has become one of the largest fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness month in central Ohio.
For a full schedule of games at the Charity Classic, click here. The Buckeyes’ slate of games is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 2: Scarlet vs. Gray Game (Buckeye Field, 6 p.m.)
Saturday, Oct. 3: Ohio State vs. Miami (Field 1, Fred Beekman Park, 12:45 p.m.)
Sunday, Oct. 4: Team Scarlet vs. Northern Kentucky (Buckeye Field, 9:30 a.m.); Team Gray vs. Toledo (Buckeye Field, 11:45 a.m.).
A total of 22 teams will represent Ohio in an event that has raised nearly $200,000 in the past 14 years. Admission to the games is free, while entrance to the OCCC is a $5 donation with all proceeds benefiting the Stefanie Spielman Fund. Fred Beekman Park is located west of State Route 315 at Lane Avenue.
