COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13 Ohio State women’s volleyball team plows forward into Week Two of the Big Ten schedule, hosting conference adversaries Iowa and No. 4 Nebraska over the weekend. The Buckeyes and Hawkeyes clash Friday (Oct. 2) before the Huskers come to town for a Saturday night scuffle (Oct. 3). Both contests are slated for 7 p.m. starts. Fans are encouraged to WEAR PINK to Friday’s match as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness initiative.

Ohio State Women’s Volleyball has won nearly 70 percent of its matches inside St. John Arena all-time. The Buckeyes began competition in the facility in 1986, compiling an overall mark of 302-130 (.699) which includes a 4-1 mark this season.
HISTORY WITH THE HAWKEYES AND HUSKERS
Ohio State has dominated the all-time series with Iowa, owning a 59-9 advantage all-time. The Buckeyes have won 12 consecutive contests over the Hawkeyes, last suffering a defeat back in 2008. While Nebraska has seized 10 of 15 previous meetings, two of the three most recent tilts have gone in favor of the Scarlet & Gray. Ohio State pulled off an epic five-set thriller last season, battling back from a 14-11 deficit and seizing five straight points to escape Lincoln as victors with a 16-14 fifth-set triumph.
THE BIG TEN GAUNTLET
Eight Big Ten programs are ranked in this week’s AVCA Division I Coaches Poll, including No. 1 Penn State, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 7 Illinois, No. 13 Ohio State, No. 16 Minnesota, No. 18 Purdue, No. 19 Wisconsin and No. 23 Michigan. In addition, Iowa and Michigan State are receiving votes. Thirteen of 14 conference schools posted winning percentages above .700 during non-conference action.
Speaking of non-conference foes, Ohio State has also faced No. 14 Arizona, No. 17 Florida State (twice) and No. 25 Wyoming this season. As of this week’s rankings, nearly 60 percent of the Buckeyes’ matches will be against schools nationally-ranked or receiving votes (19 of 32 regular season matches).
