Engle, Wick Claim Top-10 Status at Windon Memorial – Ohio State Buckeyes

GLENCOE, Ill. – Buckeye teammates Clark Engle and Josh Wick both notched top-10 showings at the Windon Memorial, each finishing 2-under in the event. Their 54-hole total of 211 tied for ninth overall and just four strokes back from the tournament winner. Ohio State placed sixth of 14 schools in the team standings.
Engle blitzed through the course on the final day, posting the second-lowest round of the tournament with a 4-under 67. He ascended 18 slots up the leaderboard, going from 27th place entering the day into a final ranking of T-9th. Wick positioned himself among the top players on the strength of a 138 two-round total on Day One. He wrapped up his first career top-10 effort with a 73 on Monday.
Wick’s Par 3 precision played a large role in his successes, completing the event at 2-under on the Par 3’s (second-best in the field). Engle, meanwhile, excelled in Par 4 scoring and paced all players at 4-under on such holes. Both Buckeyes dropped in 13 birdies (third-most overall).
Freshman Will Grimmer (+3) ended up in the top half as well, tying for 30th in the 78-player congregate. He shot a personal-best 71 in round number three following 72-73 on the opening day.
Tee-k Kelly and Grant Weaver also contributed to the team tally as members of the lineup. Kelly (+6) started hot with a first-round 70 before registering scores of 73-76 and tying for 40th place. Weaver bookended a second-round 72 with 77’s in the first and third rounds to complete the competition 13-over and tied for 61st.
Sean Busch donned the Scarlet & Gray as well, playing as an individual. He submitted tallies of 74-78-79 (231; +18).
