b>COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University men’s golf team concluded Day One competition at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at 8-over (292). Just six eagles were recorded on the day, a pair coming from Buckeyes Josh Wick and Addison Coll.
The Buckeyes are in 14th place with 36 holes to go. Clark Engle is the highest ranking individual, tied for 32nd entering Monday’s action. He paced the entire field with 16 pars on the day, but recorded just one birdie to complete the day at even par (71).
Will Grimmer dropped in three birdies and sat 3-under following the 15th hole. He finished up bogey-double-bogey, however, and is tied for 46th place at 1-over (72). Tee-Kelly is two strokes behind Grimmer, good for a share of 61st place at 3-over (74). Kelly registered three birdies on the day.
Both Wick and Coll eagled the 10th hole, making Ohio State the only team with multiple eagles on Day One. Wick is tied for 65th at 4-over while Coll comes in at 5-over and tied for 71st.
