GLENCOE, Ill. – Redshirt sophomore Josh Wick will enter the final day of the Windon Memorial tied for fourth place on the individual scoreboard. Ohio State is also tied for fourth in the team standings after 36 holes complete. Wick sits 4-under (138) and just three strokes back from the 36-hole leader Stuart McDonald (-7) of Purdue. All but one grouping finished the entire two rounds before darkness set in and ended play for the day.
Wick buried six birdies in round number two, including a stretch of three consecutive on Holes 7-9. He racked up 10 birdies in total, tied with teammate Tee-k Kelly for the second-most in the tournament. As a team, Ohio State accumulated 36 birdies; also tied for the second-highest sum. Wick posted a pair of scores in the red, dipping under par in an opening-round 70 followed by a 68 in the afternoon round. Kelly matched Wick’s 70 to start before carding a 2-over 73 in the second go-around. Kelly’s efforts earned him a share of 18th place in the 78-player event.
Clark Engle is a lone shot back from Kelly, tied for 27th at 2-over. The 2015 All-Big Ten performer recorded rounds of 71-73. And Will Grimmer finished just one stroke shy of Engle, grabbing a piece of 32nd place at 3-over (72-73). Redshirt senior Grant Weaver contributed the second-lowest tally to the team score Round Two with a 1-over 72. Combined with an opening-round 77, Weaver is locked up in 59th place entering Monday’s final round.
In addition, Sean Busch is representing the Scarlet & Gray competing as an individual. He registered scores of 74-78 (+10) and is slotted 68th.
