Buckeyes Wrap Up Season-Opening Weekend – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team closed out its season-opening weekend Sunday at tournaments in Coral Gables, Fla., and Waco, Texas.
At the Miami Fall Invite, junior Miho Kowase ended the tournament with a win in the green singles third place match, coming back to defeat Miami’s Clara Tanielian in a super tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (6). Kowase and classmate Gabriella De Santis posted a win in the doubles consolation, topping Ogungbesan and Washington from Pitt, 6-2. Both Kowase and De Santis reached the semifinals of their respective draws with two wins over the weekend.
At Baylor’s Under Armour H-E-B Invite, a hidden dual tournament, junior Ferny Angeles Paz, sophomore Olivia Sneed and redshirt senior Nicole Flower picked up singles wins Sunday, with Angles Paz winning in straight sets and Sneed and Flower both triumphing in three sets. Senior Grainne O’Neill and Angeles Paz also posted a doubles win. On the weekend, Anna Sanford, Angles Paz and Flower led the Buckeyes with 2-1 singles ledgers each.
