Six Buckeyes Set for U.S. National Qualifier in Colorado – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six Buckeyes – five current and one former – are set to compete at the 2015 U.S. Men’s National Qualifier July 18 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Sean Melton, Jake Martin, Jake Dastrup, Drew Moling and Seth Delbridge will be joined at the U.S.O.T.C. by former Buckeye and current U.S. Senior National Team member Brandon Wynn. A minimum of 14 athletes from the competition will qualify to the 2015 P&G Gymnastics Championships in Indianapolis Aug. 13-16.
Melton will make his return to competition after sitting out the majority of the 2015 season with a lower back injury. Last summer, Melton, the 2014 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and two-event Big Ten champion, earned a bronze medal in the all-around and team gold with the U.S. National Team at the Senior Pan American Games after finishing 11th in the all-around at the P&G championships.
Martin is also making his return to the gym after sitting out for most of the 2015 season. He was a two-event All-American for the Buckeyes in 2014 and the Big Ten champion on vault. He tied for 14th in the all-around last year at the P&G championships.
Dastrup will see his first action in more than a year after redshirting the 2015 season due to injury. He was ninth on parallel bars at the 2014 Big Ten Championships and seventh on pommel horse at the 2013 P&G Championships.
Moling enjoyed an outstanding senior campaign for the Scarlet and Gray in 2015, earning All-America honors on rings and First Team All-Big Ten recognition. He represented Ohio State in the all-around at P&Gs last summer and is making his third-consecutive trip to the national qualifier. Moling will serve as a student coach for the Buckeyes this coming season.
Wynn, a two-time national champion and All-American for the Buckeyes from 2008-2011, is a four-time U.S. national champion on rings. A member of Team Hilton HHonors, he is coached by Buckeye assistant coach Casimiro Suarez.
