Ohio State Slips Into Seventh Place During Day Two – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University men’s golf team is three strokes back from the NCAA-Championships-advancing top-5 at the NCAA New Haven Regional after slipping into a tie for seventh place on Day Two of the three-day event.
The Buckeyes are plus-13 overall, nipping at the heels of fifth-place Oklahoma State (+10) and sixth-place Iowa (+11). Holes of distance have proved very beneficial to Ohio State as the Bucks are 8-under on Par 5’s, besting the field on such holes by a four-shot margin.
Sophomore Addison Coll improved his standing in the second round, ascending three slots on the individual leaderboard up into a tie for 17th place (+2). Coll eliminated three bogies with three birdies and registered an even-par 70 on Friday.
Coll’s classmate Clark Engle is the top Buckeye performer through 36 holes, earning a share of 12th place at 1-over. He opened the tournament dipping under par at 68 before posting a 73 in his second trip around the course.
Tee-k Kelly and Boo Timko are slotted in the 30’s, tied for 31st and 36th, respectively. Kelly has rattled of scores of 72-73 (+5) while Timko came in at 71-75 (+6). Grant Weaver matched Timko’s opening round 71 and carded a 77 in round number two to grab a piece of 46th place.

Ohio State, North Texas and Troy make up the first threesome to tee off for Saturday’s final round. Grant Weaver is set to get it going for the Buckeyes starting with the 7:30 a.m. ET tee time.
