COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State track and field team concluded competition at the Stanford Invitational Saturday evening.
Senior Bianca Walton highlighted the final day of competition for the Scarlet and Gray, clearing a personal-best 12.54 meters (41-1.75) to win the triple jump. The mark ranks 19th in Division I this season.
The women’s 4×400-meter relay team was runner-up to Notre Dame in a season-best time of 3:38.09, the 13th-fastest time in Division I this season.
Ohio State athletes found success in the short hurdles. Junior Alexis Franklin placed third in the women’s 100-meter hurdles in a time of 13.73 seconds, while junior Donovan Robertson finished fourth in the men’s 110-meter hurdle final (14.47).
Sophomore Jared Fleming ran a time of 1:50.31 in the 800-meter run, a Top-25 performance in Division I this season. He finished fourth overall in his section.
Throwers Dominate at Miami
Ohio State’s throws team competed Saturday at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio.
Redshirt junior J.C. Murasky continued his strong start to the season, winning both the shot put and discus. Murasky cleared 19.01 meter (62-4.50) in the shot put and set a new personal-best mark of 53.59 meters (175-10.00) in the discus, a distance that ranks him third in the event in the Ohio State record book.
Sophomore Aaron Zedella won the shot put with a personal-best throw of 58.30 meters (191-3.00), while sophomore Dylan Dyke was a runner-up in the shot put (17.54m/57-6.50) and third in the hammer (57.41 meters/188-4.00).
Senior Carly Pendleton led the women’s effort with a first-place finish in the discus (46.89 meters/153-10.00). Junior Alyssa Gary was a runner-up in the shot put at 14.44 meters (47-4.50).
