COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 22nd-ranked Ohio State women’s tennis will look to remain undefeated in conference play this spring as itwelcomes two ranked opponents to Columbus this weekend. The Buckeyes host No. 28 Purdue at 3 p.m. Friday before squaring off against 43-ranked Indiana at noon Sunday. The match vs. Purdue will be played INDOORS at the Ohio State Varsity indoor Tennis Center (880 W. Henderson Road).The match vs. Indiana will played INDOORS at the Varsity Tennis Center as well at noon Sunday.
WEEKEND WINS?
The Buckeyes went 3-0 last weekend with wins vs. Rutgers, No. 47 Maryland and UMBC on the road. Ohio State started the weekend with a 7-0 sweep Friday vs. Rutgers before earning two wins Sunday, downing 47th-ranked Maryland, 6-1, in College Park, Md., and UMBC, 6-0, in Baltimore.
SCOUTING PURDUE
?The Buckeyes look to snap an eight match win streak by the Boilermakers who are 10-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play this spring with victories vs. Indiana, Nebraska and Iowa. The roster features one ranked doubles pair, No. 55 Daniela Vidal and Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum, who are 12-2 overall. Purdue is 4-2 in road matches this spring.
Ohio State leads the all-time series vs. Purdue, 24-23. Last season, the Buckeyes downed the Boilermakers in Columbus, 5-2.
A LOOK AT THE HOOSIERS
?Indiana has notched two straight wins on the road in B1G play heading into this weekend. The Hoosiers are led by Paula Gutierrez who has notched a team-best 12 wins in singles play and Katie Klyczek who is 8-7 at the No. 1 singles position this spring. The Hoosiers will face off vs. Penn State in College before heading to Columbus Sunday.
Ohio State is 10-32 all-time vs. Indiana, including a 7-0 shutout in the regular season last year.

DE SANTIS NAMED B1G ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
?Sophomore Gabriella De Santis earned her second career B1G Athlete of the Week laurels March 10 after collecting a pair of wins at No. 1 singles vs. Northwestern and Illinois. The Caracas, Venezuela, native defeated Northwestern’s Alicia Barnett in straight sets on court one to push the Buckeyes to a 6-1 victory at home. After dropping the first set on the road to Illinois’ Melissa Kopinski, De Santis rallied to earn a three-set victory, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, and clinch the Buckeye victory vs. the Illini. She was previously recognized last season on April 1, 2014.
UP NEXT
Ohio State will travel to Austin, Texas, to compete against Texas at 1 p.m. April 4 for the first meeting all-time between the two schools.
