COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 31 Ohio State women’s tennis team (3-0, 0-0 B1G) is set to continue its competitive nonconference slate as it takes on No. 8 Stanford and No. 19 Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., this weekend. The Buckeyes, who defeated No. 27 Arizona State on the road last weekend, will face No. 8 Stanford (2-0) on a neutral court Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by host Notre Dame (2-1) at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

SCOUTING NO. 8 STANFORD
The No. 8 Cardinal opened their spring season at home with a pair of wins vs. ranked opponents, topping No. 54 Princeton, 6-1, and No. 44 St. Mary’s, 5-2. The Stanford roster features three ranked singles players in the Top 15: No. 4 Carol Zhao, No. 12 Taylor Davidson and No. 13 Caroline Doyle. The Cardinal also have two ranked doubles teams – No. 6 Zhao and Davidson and No. 12 Caroline Doyle and Ellen Tsay.
The neutral site contest marks the first meeting between the Cardinals and Buckeyes.
A LOOK AT NO. 19 NOTRE DAME
No. 19 Notre Dame is 2-1 to start the spring season with three home outings. Last time out, the Irish dropped a 5-2 home contest to No. 15 Michigan Feb. 1. The Irish have one ranked doubles tandem, No. 16 Quinn Gleason and Monica Robinson, who are 1-1 this spring.
The Buckeyes are 3-17 all-time vs. the Irish. The Buckeyes and Irish last met in South Bend, Ind., in 2010, a shutout victory for Notre Dame.
OHIO STATE VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
Ohio State, in the midst of a five-match road stretch with Top 35 opponents, is 1-0 vs. ranked opponents this season.
The Scarlet and Gray are slated to face 14 ranked teams this season: Arizona State (27), Notre Dame (19), Stanford (8), Tennessee (35), Georgia Tech (18), Baylor (9), Northwestern (22), Illinois (46), Maryland (63), Purdue (38), Indiana (52), Texas (23), Michigan (15) and Michigan State (75). Of those ranked teams, seven are members of the Big Ten Conference. Last season, the Buckeyes recorded a 6-9 ledger against ranked opponents.
NO. 31 BUCKEYES DEFEAT NO. 27 ARIZONA STATE
In its first road match of the spring season, No. 31 Ohio State defeated No. 27 Arizona State, 4-3. Despite dropping the doubles point, the Buckeyes rallied to win four singles matches to claim the match. Miho Kowase put the first point on the board with a straight set victory on court five, while Sandy Niehaus earned her first victory vs. a ranked opponent with a three-set win on court four. With the team down 3-2, sophomore Gabriella De Santis and freshman Olivia Sneed notched come-from-behind three-set wins on courts two and six to earn the team victory for the Buckeyes.

• In dual matches, Ohio State is 16-2 (.889) in singles and 4-2 in doubles (.667) competition this season.
