WINDERMERE, Fla. – Caleb Ramirez, a freshman from Blythe, Calif., saved his best for last and carded an even-par 72 in the final round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational. Making his Buckeye debut, Ramirez led all Ohio State players and earned a share of 20th place overall in the 75-player field.
Ramirez finished the 54-hole competition at 5-over (221) to notch his first career top-25 performance. He started by carding a 74 in the opening round followed by a 75 in round number two. Ramirez then shaved several strokes off his final round tally with a 72 on Tuesday. He rebounded from a triple bogey early in the day and dropped in four birdies after ‘the turn’ in the third round.
Tee-k Kelly and Clark Engle were next in line for the Scarlet & Gray, earning a share of 53rd and 59th place, respectively. Kelly and Engle both put themselves in contention for top-25 efforts as well before slipping up a bit in the final round. Kelly posted scores of 74-75-80 while Engle went 74-76-81.
Addison Coll finished a stroke back from Engle and tied for 61st. Coll registered rounds of 74-78-80 to conclude the Fall season. Grant Weaver took on the Isleworth Country & Golf Club, too, totaling 238 shots (+22).
