COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt sophomore Donovan Robertson’s win in the 60-meter hurdles highlighted the Ohio State track and field team’s Friday-Saturday trip to the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Ky.
A native of Berea, Ohio, Robertson crossed the finish line in a time of 7.79 seconds, just ahead of Yanik Hart of Florida (7.83). Robertson currently owns the second-best time in NCAA Division I this season in the event (7.76 at the Buckeye Classic) and is the Ohio State school-record holder (7.65 seconds set last season).
Senior Katie Borchers also fought her way into the record books for the Buckeye women, turning in a time of 4:47.33 in the mile run, the second-best indoor time in school history and a Top-30 time nationally. Competing in a loaded field, the run was good for 11th overall.
In the 400-meter dash, sophomore Aaliyah Barnes sprinted to the top time in the Big Ten this season, completing her race in 55.14 seconds.
The Buckeye throwers enjoyed another productive day, this time in the shot put, as junior Alyssa Gary and redshirt junior J.C. Murasky both finished eighth in their respective events. Gary posted a personal-best mark of 14.89 meters (48-10.25), while Murasky hit 18.46 meters (60-6.75), a Top-25 performance in Division I this season.
