COLUMBUS, Ohio – A pair of Buckeyes are slotted in the top-10 of the individual leaderboard with 18 holes complete at the season-opening Northern Intercollegiate. Logan Jones (-2) and Addison Coll (-1) are tied for third and sixth place, respectively, driving Ohio State into contention at two-over and just five strokes off the pace.
The Buckeyes are in second place one-third of the way through the event, powered by excellence on the course’s Par 5’s. As a team, Ohio State shot 8-under (290) on the long holes, three shots better than any other team in the field.
Boo Timko is knocking on the top-10 door as well, carding a 73 (+1) to earn a share of 14th place. Grant Weaver, playing in his first collegiate tournament since tearing his ACL last fall, posted a 76 (+4) and ranks t-37th. Sean Busch rounded out the OSU lineup, going 7-over with a 79. Playing as an individual, Josh Wick tallied a 6-over 78, good for a piece of 50th place.
Jones dropped in five birdies on the day, the second-most of all competitors. Coll penciled in four birds while Timko and Weaver each dipped under par three times.
