COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Women’s Volleyball welcomes Maryland and Rutgers to the Big Ten by hosting the two schools in St. John Arena visits for the first time as conference members. It marks the first ever trip to Columbus for the Scarlet Knights while the Terrapins have competed in the center of Buckeye Nation as recently as 2011 representing the Atlantic Coast Conference.

HISTORY WITH NEWEST BIG TEN SISTREN
Ohio State has won eight of 10 previous combined meetings with the Big Ten’s newest members, owning a 6-1 mark against Maryland and 2-1 versus Rutgers. The Buckeyes are riding a three-match winning streak over the Terrapins (1997, 2011, 2012) and are 3-0 all-time in Columbus. Ohio State head coach Geoff Carlston is 4-0 during his head coaching career (3-0 vs. UMD, 1-0 vs. Rutgers) against the tandem.
OHIO STATE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Buckeyes are slotted No. 18 in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25. The computer have Ohio State rated as the 22nd-best team in the country according to the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).
WINNER CRACKS THE CENTURY MARK
Senior defensive specialist stepped onto the court donning an Ohio State uniform for the 100th time on Oct. 28 at Penn State. She enters the weekend having played in 101 career matches as a Buckeye.
SETTING UP THE BUCKEYES FOR SUCCESS
Senior setter Taylor Sherwin became just the seventh player in school history to record 3,000 career assists, surpassing the milestone on Oct. 18 at Purdue. The Orlando, Fla., native has accumulated 3,151 assists.
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE
Ohio State suffered its first home loss of the season last weekend versus Penn State The Buckeyes are now 7-1 at home, including a pair of top-25 wins over #15 Illinois and #24 Northwestern earlier in the year. OSU defended their home turf admirably Sept. 5-7 as well, laying claim to the 9th Annual Sports Imports D.C. Koehl Classic trophy. The Buckeyes defeated Auburn, Florida Gulf Coast and Southern Illinois to take ownership of the hardware. Luisa Schirmer was voted the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player while Elizabeth Campbell and Taylor Sandbothe joined her on the all-tournament team.
Amidst the 29th season calling St. Johna Arena `home,’ the Buckeyes are 294-128 (.697) all-time in the facility.
