COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2014 regular season comes to an end this week as Ohio State Women’s Volleyball holds Senior Night festivities Wednesday (Nov. 26) evening during a home match versus Minnesota before traveling out east to face Rutgers in New Jersey on Saturday (Nov. 29). Both contests are set for 7 p.m. ET starts.
WEDNESDAY PARKING ADVISORY
Due to a home men’s basketball game, parking attendants will be monitoring the St. John Arena parking lots. Fans attending the volleyball match can simply inform the attendants of such and be able to park free of charge.

SENIOR SEND-OFF
Four Buckeye student-athletes will take to the hardwood in front of a home crowd for the final time Wednesday night. Anna Faul, Erin Sekinger, Taylor Sherwin and Alyssa Winner have combined to play in 364 career matches donning the Scarlet and Gray.
SETTING UP THE BUCKEYES FOR SUCCESS
Senior setter Taylor Sherwin became just the seventh player in school history to record 3,000 career assists, surpassing the milestone on Oct. 18 at Purdue. The Orlando, Fla., native has accumulated 3,383 assists to date. She moved into the all-time top-5 in school history two weeks ago, surpassing Jen Flynn (3,213; 1996-97) and Jen Boleyn (3,214; 1994-96). Katie Virtue (1999-2002) is atop the list after setting up 5,648 assists during her illustrious career as a Buckeye.
WINNER CRACKS THE CENTURY MARK
Senior defensive specialist stepped onto the court donning an Ohio State uniform for the 100th time on Oct. 28 at Penn State. She enters the week having played in 107 career matches and dug 424 balls.
SEKINGER SIZZLING AS A SENIOR
Senior outside hitter Erin Sekinger has stepped up her game for her senior campaign, setting career highs with 359 kills, 54 blocks, 40 blocks and 10 aces. Her 3.21 kills and 3.57 points per set averages both rank 10th in the entire Big Ten Conference.
DESPITE INJURIES FAUL LEAVES OSU IN SCHOOL RECORD BOOKS
Senior middle blocker Anna Faul has transitioned into a role as student assistant this season after suffering a season-ending injury. While on the court, Faul averaged .84 blocks per set in her career, the 18th-best rate in school history. She totaled 116 blocks in 138 sets played.
HISTORY WITH THE GOPHERS AND SCARLET KNIGHTS
Ohio State split a pair meetings with Minnesota and Rutgers earlier this season, dropping a five-set road match in Minneapolis (Sept. 24) before sweeping the Scarlet Knights in Columbus (Nov. 8). All-time, the Golden Gophers own a 40-33 edge over Ohio State, but the Buckeyes have taken 19 of 32 contests inside St. John Arena. Ohio State and Rutgers have met just four times on the volleyball court previously with the Buckeyes victorious in three of those tilts.

RECORD BOOK WRECKAGE
Valeria León has already cracked the OSU all-time top-20 with 408 digs this season and is quickly closing in on the top-10. Taylor Sherwin and Taylor Sandbothe are both within reach of top-20 statistical season totals as well:
León – 408 digs ranks 14th (10th – 422 digs by Julie Chellevold in 2004)
Sherwin – 1,134 assists (20th – 1,152 assists by Laura Davis in 1992)
Sandbothe – 21 solo blocks (20th – 23 solo blocks by Mari Hole in 2011)
Sandbothe – 92 block assists (20th – 95 block assists by D’wan Shackleford in 2003)
Sandbothe – 113 total blocks (20th – 114 total blocks by Danielle Meyer in 2005)
OHIO STATE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Buckeyes are slotted No. 20 in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25. The computers have Ohio State rated as the 29th-best team in the country according to the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).
THE BIG TEN GAUNTLET
Six Big Ten programs are ranked in this week’s AVCA Division I Coaches Poll, including No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 4 Penn State, No. 10 Nebraska, No. 11 Illinois, No. 19 Purdue, and No. 20 Ohio State.
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE
Ohio State notched its 10th win at home this season by defeating Iowa last week. St. John Arena has witnessed a pair of top-25 wins over #15 Illinois and #24 Northwestern and seen the Buckeyes go 10-2 overall inside the facility in 2014. OSU defended their home turf admirably Sept. 5-7 as well, laying claim to the 9th Annual Sports Imports D.C. Koehl Classic trophy. The Buckeyes defeated Auburn, Florida Gulf Coast and Southern Illinois to take ownership of the hardware. Luisa Schirmer was voted the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player while Elizabeth Campbell and Taylor Sandbothe joined her on the all-tournament team.
Amidst the 29th season calling St. Johna Arena `home,’ the Buckeyes are 297-129 (.697) all-time in the facility.
