Buckeyes Defeat West Point and Coast Guard – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team recently added two wins to its season total, earning victories over West Point and Coast Guard on Saturday, Oct. 18 in West Point, N.Y. Although West Point, who served as host for the double dual, captured the air pistol match, the final aggregate provided Ohio State a decisive win with a team total of 5336.
Sophomore Quentin Cauffman captured first place in the standard pistol competition with a 537, as well as the three-gun aggregate (1345). The wins mark the second-straight match Cauffman has earned top accolades.
Freshman Irina Andrianova picked up first-place finishes in three events – the women’s air (363), women’s sport pistol (562) and two-gun aggregate (925). Consistent with Cauffman, the match marked the second consecutive Andrianova, a freshman this season, earned an individual win.
The Buckeyes will next travel to South Carolina to compete against the Bulldogs of The Citadel. Matches are scheduled to take place Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 2.
