Buckeyes Fall to WVU, 1-0, in Exhibition Play – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to West Virginia in a preseason exhibition Sunday afternoon at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, W. Va. The Buckeyes will host IPFW at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in the second of three preseason contests for the squad.
Andy Bevin score the lone goal of the match, connecting on a free kick in the 75th minute from just outside the penalty area. Junior forward Kenny Cunningham came up with the closest opportunity for the Buckeyes with a shot off the crossbar 10 minutes into the second half.
A total of 17 OSU players saw action in the contest, including eight newcomers. Alex Ivanov played the full 90 minutes in goal, tallying three saves in the second half.
