Ohio State Takes Second at Northwestern Spring Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

GLENVIEW, Ill. – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished the final day of the Northwestern Spring Invitational Tuesday in second with a final round score of 283. The Buckeyes tallied a 54-hole score of 8-under 856 on the par 72, 7,149-yard Glen Club, marking a new team low this spring season.
Northwestern took home the team and individual titles with a team score of 20-under 844, while Jack Perry finished with a 16-under 200.
Sophomores Boo Timko and Grant Weaver each notched career-best finishes, coming in second and third, respectively. Timko, a Girard, Ohio, product, carded a season low 8-under 208 (71-70-67), having four birdies and one eagle on the day to offset one bogie. Weaver, of Wooster, Ohio, tied a career low score with a 6-under 210 (73-69-68) and totaled a team-best 13 birdies over three rounds.
Freshman Tee-k Kelly improved from day one, carding a 1-under 71 in the final round. The Wheaton, Ill., native, finished tied for 12th with a 5-over 221. Classmate Max Rosenthal also finished tied for 12th after rounds of 71-73-77. Freshman Michael Bernard totaled a score of 11-over 227 to come in tied for 41st.
Competing as individuals, senior Matt Turner and redshirt sophomore Logan Jones concluded the tournament with a 222 and 237, respectively.
The Buckeyes travel to the Big Ten Championships April 26-28 held in French Lick, Ind., at the French Lick Resort.
